Happy New Year everyone!
It's been a hectic few weeks and it isn't over yet. I'm busy preparing for my sister's baby shower this weekend.
Last year was a good one for the Empire series.
Thanks to all those who loved the books and spread the word about Adrian and Kali.
An Empire doesn't get built in a day and hopefully 2013 will be even better!
2013 is off to a great start with 'The Rebels' being featured as for the month of January in the Writers and Readers group on Goodreads.

Just received great reviews from Two Lips Reviews for
The Empire (4 1/2 stars)
"this is an impressive series beginning" (http://tinyurl.com/byre5zy)
and The Rebels (5 stars)
"I thought The Empire was a great read, but this sequel deserves, in my opinion, nomination for the Next Generation Indie Book Awards for 2013. The Rebels overflows with exciting action-packed thrills, keeping the tension high from start to finish."

Just came back from a 5-week holiday! Feel tired but it was a great time. The cruise in SE Asia was wonderful. Spending time in Toronto with family and friends was fantastic and attending the World Fantasy Convention 2012 was amazing!

Body in Motion
"Alright, you lazy bums, get your bodies in gear!" the tyrant/fitness instructor shouted.
Chester groaned, took a reluctant step forward and…fell out of bed.
What the…? Shock eyes opened and were greeted by the friendly, undemanding darkness of his bedroom. Oh, good. It was only a dream. He rolled over and went back to sleep.

A 5-star review for The Rebels from the
Readers Favorite

"The Rebels is an extremely well-written science fiction novel...will hook even readers who generally don't read science fiction...belongs on science fiction reading lists everywhere."

Writing is going well on THE ANDROMEDANS, but I discovered that I can't do justice to the Adrian-Kali story line or the resolution with the Andromedan war unless I expand it to a fourth book.
Thanks to a supportive and understanding publisher, it is official. The Empire Series is now a 4-book series with the last one slated for next year.
I will be working on Mrs. Beeston, my humour-laden Sci-Fi/Fantasy starring everyone's favorite grandmother, Gladys Ruth Beeston! Hopefully it will be ready for the end of this year but that depends on how much writing I can get done once my sister's twins arrive. Which should be any day now!
I've already commissioned Artauxeo to do some illustrations for both THE ANDROMEDANS and some development work for MRS BEESTON, with the idea of it becoming a cover. Two scenes are already written for it, plus a conceptualization for a third, and they've been passed to the artist.

A wonderful endorsement from Mary Balogh, a lovely award-winning writer whom I respect a great deal.
"A wonderful adventure of a book--a fast-moving plot, a full cast of fascinating characters and enough suspense to keep me clicking through the pages."
Plus, one of the first pictures of my new niece and nephew. Future Saskatchewan Roughrider fans!

Great reviews for the Empire Series the last few days.
Tink's Place's Review of The Empire (5 stars)
"I found myself drawn to these characters...I very much enjoyed this seemingly quick read, and recommend it to others who enjoy the genre."
Unwritten's Review of The Empire (5 stars)
"I'd been wanting to read this book for a long while, and I'm glad I finally got the chance. Elizabeth Lang's writing cuts marrow deep. She doesn't hesitate to dig right down into the murky depths of the human psyche, showing us the full range of what men and women are capable of, from the downright despicable to the surprisingly noble.
"For someone like me, who's often leery of reading science fiction, I'm happy to say that The Empire has changed that. Sure, there are plenty of futuristic technologies going on throughout the story, but I never got bogged down with the lingo. Elizabeth blends it all in perfectly with the character-driven plot. Each and every character in the story came alive on the page, even the supporting cast.
"The clincher, which should come as no surprise to those who know me, was the romance between Adrian and Kali. Their scenes together are heart-wrenchingly good and beautifully written. I love the dynamic of their connection."
The Writing Network's Review of The Rebels (fabulous)
"From the first pages, this story draws you into the action of the moment. The tone set is intense, emotional, and desperate. She paints the portrait of heroes burdened with a harsh reality, and lays out the most incredible and captivating story arcs. I’m not going to give away details but I will tell you that through this story you will find yourself turning the last page wanting much more.
"Fabulous book for any true science fiction reader."

An great review for 'The Empire' from A Diary of a Book Addict.
""The Empire is a great Science Fiction read. I have to say that I normally do not read sci-fi books but this one grabbed me and I really enjoyed it...There is so much action in this book and what happens will blow your mind. This is a great read that really took me by surprise. Like I said I have not really read many sci-fi books but this one is going to be a series I follow.""
